For years, while managing my medical conditions, I’ve been writing music in doctors’ offices and hospitals. It’s my way of dealing with everything going on. Some people journal; I write songs. I’ve written more than 100 songs on my laptop or iPhone. Each one means something different—some make me happy, some sad, and a few even make me cry. It’s an emotional process, but it helps me work through what I’m feeling.
Writing music during these moments helps me get my mind off things, whether it’s waiting for an appointment or overhearing others talk about their health. “Music from the Doctor’s Office” is a reflection of everything I’ve been through, and every song tells part of that story.
